The law requires that we implement certain protections prior to collecting personal information from children online.
Teachers are provided a copy of this COPPA Privacy Notice, which gives direct notice of our privacy practices. Teachers are required to verify that they have authorization to consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information about their students. For students accessing the Platform through school, we rely on the consent provided by the teacher for the collection and use of personal information collected from the students as described in this Notice.
Where a child does not register for the Platform through school, we require verifiable parental consent before a user under the age of 18 can register on the Platform. We will not collect, ues, or disclose information from your child without such consent. To provide your consent, you may provide a valid credit card number during the registration process. A one-time fee of $0.50 is charged to verify that a parent or guardian has provided consent. The fee is charged when you register the child for an account on the Platform. Credit card information is not stored on the system, and cannot be used to make additional purchases through the Platform. A fee is not needed to set up subsequent child accounts on the Platform. Once the first child account has been created, you can add additional accounts for no additional fee.
